Suspected drone attack is blatant attempt to intimidate aid flotilla – Boylan

Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan has slammed a suspected drone attack on a ship in the aid flotilla to Gaza.

The Dublin MEP said:

“It’s clear that the suspected drone attack last night is a blatant attempt to intimidate those taking part in the flotilla.

“The ship ‘family’ was struck late last night, while no injuries have been reported, the deck suffered fire damage and the lifejackets were destroyed.

“Video footage clearly shows that this was not the result of a malfunction onboard the boat itself.

“The footage clearly shows a projectile coming from the sky, impacting the deck and then igniting.

“This is an attack on a civilian ship, carrying humanitarian aid, in Tunisian waters.

“There must immediately be a full forensic investigation into this attack, and the munitions used in it to determine who is responsible.

“It’s shameful that civilian volunteers are the ones putting their lives on the lines to deliver this aid.

“We have reached a point where ordinary people are having to step up to do the right thing, because their governments, and the EU as a whole, isn’t willing to do so.
