Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan has again urged world leaders to finally do the right thing and stand up to Israel and its genocide against Palestine.
The Dublin MEP made her comments ahead of a press conference in Brussels on Wednesday to discuss the latest escalations in Israel’s barbarism.
Boylan MEP said:
“The world has stood idly by for 19 months while Israel has carried out a ruthless genocide in Gaza.
“For 19 months, they have watched as Israel committed war crimes and violated international laws and human rights without fear of consequences.
“The total failure to impose real and meaningful consequences or sanctions on Israel has given them the freedom to do this.
“In recent days, there has been another escalation to their actions.
“Last week, they carried out a drone strike on a boat in international waters that was preparing to bring food and aid to Gaza.
“On Monday, it also emerged that Israel was planning to seize all of Gaza and to hold it indefinitely.
“This is a blatant attempt to wipe out the Palestinian people. This is a genocide.
“The international community is out of time.
“They must stand up to Israel, imposing the most severe sanctions for their actions and demand a permanent ceasefire to allow aid and food to flow to the besieged people of Gaza.”
