Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan has said that community groups and CO-OP’s can make a real difference in transforming local communities and tackling climate change.
The Dublin MEP spoke after hosting a delegation from Bohemian’s football club to meet community co-op and investment groups from across Europe
Lynn said:
“Community groups and local CO-OP’s can make a real difference in their local communities.
“In Dublin, Bohemian’s football club works to create opportunities for, and to give back to local people.
“I hosted a delegation from Bohemian’s to meet funding and investment groups in the European parliament this week.
“The delegation spoke about the clubs work in setting up a CO-OP to give back to the community, and about their ambition to deliver a scheme for local people that will make solar energy more affordable.
“At a time when workers and families continue to struggle with the rising cost of living, this is an excellent example of how a local organisation can help ensure a just transition that is good for the environment and fair for ordinary people and communities.
“As your MEP, I am determined to ensure that communities in Dublin have a voice in Europe, and that we ensure the EU really deliver for you.”
