Boylan to travel as independent observer of latest freedom flotilla

Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan will travel as part of a team of independent observers, monitoring the latest freedom flotilla to Gaza.

 The Dublin MEP said:

“I will be travelling as independent observer of the latest freedom flotilla attempting to bring aid supplies to Gaza.

“The team of observers includes law makers and other experts on an independent vessel, travelling separately from the main flotilla.

“Our role will be to witness any actions taken by Israel against the flotilla and the legality of these actions.

“Given how Israel has conducted itself with the latest flotilla aid ships, its vital that an accurate record is kept of their actions.

“Israel is a rogue state, their deliberate blocking of all humanitarian aid from entering Gaza is just the latest in their long list of war crimes, and crimes against humanity.

“These flotillas act where the international community doesn’t have the courage to do so.

“Rather than standing idly by in the face of Israel’s genocide, the EU should immediately suspend the EU-Israel association agreement, and impose the most severe sanction on Israel.

“All nations must be united in their demands for an immediate ceasefire, and for vital humanitarian aid to be allowed to flow freely to the Palestinian people who are now enduring famine conditions.”
